4. Cookies
To make visiting our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use cookies on various pages. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Some cookies we use are deleted at the end of your browser session (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which varies depending on the cookie.
Cookies collect and process certain user information, such as browser and location data and IP addresses, in individual instances.
Some cookies serve to simplify processes, for example by storing items in a virtual shopping cart for a later visit. If personal data is also processed by certain cookies we implement, the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract performance or in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interest in providing the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly visit experience.

For this purpose, cookies from partner companies may also be stored on your device when you visit our website (third-party cookies). If we collaborate with such advertising partners, you will be informed about the use of these cookies and the data collected in detail in this Privacy Policy.

Each browser handles cookie settings differently. Please refer to your browser’s help menu for instructions on managing cookie settings.
When you first visit our website, we may request your consent to use cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the website through a cookie banner. You can adjust your preferences at any time.
Please note that if you do not accept cookies, the functionality of our website may be limited.
5. Contacting Us
When you contact us (for example, via a contact form or email), personal data is collected. The specific data collected when using a contact form is evident from the respective form. This data is used exclusively to respond to your inquiry or to contact you and handle the associated technical administration.
The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If your contact is aimed at concluding a contract, an additional legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your data will be deleted after your inquiry has been fully resolved, provided there are no statutory retention obligations that prevent this.
6. Data Processing When Opening a Customer Account and for Contract Processing
In accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, personal data will continue to be collected and processed when you provide it to us for the purpose of contract execution or opening a customer account. The specific data collected is evident from the respective input forms.
You can delete your customer account at any time by contacting us at info@elise-montreal.com.
We store and use the data you provide for contract processing. Once the contract has been fully executed or your customer account deleted, your data will be restricted for further use and deleted after the statutory retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use your data for purposes permitted by law, about which we inform you below.
7. Use of Your Data for Direct Marketing
7.1 Subscription to Our Email Newsletter
If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. The only mandatory information required for receiving the newsletter is your email address. Providing additional data is optional and will be used to personalize the newsletter.
We use the double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter. This means we will only send you an email newsletter if you have expressly confirmed that you agree to receive newsletters. After signing up, we will send you a confirmation email asking you to confirm your subscription by clicking a specific link.
By activating the confirmation link, you consent to the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. When signing up for the newsletter, we store your IP address as recorded by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the date and time of registration. This helps us track any potential misuse of your email address.
The data collected during the newsletter subscription is used exclusively for promotional purposes via the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in the newsletter or by contacting us at info@elise-montreal.com. Upon unsubscribing, your email address will be promptly removed from our newsletter distribution list unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data, or we reserve the right to use your data for legally permitted purposes, about which we inform you in this statement.
7.2 Email Newsletter for Existing Customers
If you have provided us with your email address during the purchase of goods or services, we reserve the right to send you offers for similar goods or services via email. We do not require separate consent for this. The data processing is based on our legitimate interest in personalized direct marketing in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you object to the use of your email address for this purpose, we will not send marketing emails. You can object at any time by notifying us at info@elise-montreal.com. The only costs you incur are transmission costs at basic rates. Upon receiving your objection, we will immediately stop using your email address for advertising purposes.
8. Data Processing for Order Processing
8.1 Sharing Data with Shipping Providers
Personal data collected by us will be passed on to the shipping company entrusted with delivery as part of contract execution, provided this is necessary for delivering the goods. This data transfer is carried out under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and only as necessary for payment processing.
PayPal may conduct a credit check for certain payment methods. For this purpose, your payment data may be transmitted to credit agencies, as allowed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on PayPal’s legitimate interest in determining your payment ability. Further information can be found in PayPal’s privacy policy.
You may object to this data processing at any time by contacting PayPal. However, PayPal remains entitled to process your personal data if this is necessary for contractual payment processing.

10. Social Media and Plugins
Our website may use social plugins or social sharing features (for example, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms). Where applicable, we implement privacy-friendly solutions designed to reduce automatic data transfer. If you interact with a social feature, data may be transmitted to the respective platform provider in accordance with their privacy policy.
Please note that platform providers may process data outside your country of residence. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers for details on their processing activities and your options.
11. Online Marketing and Advertising Tools
We may use online marketing tools and tracking technologies (for example, Google Ads, remarketing services, or similar technologies) to measure the success of advertising campaigns and provide more relevant marketing.
Where required by law, these tools are only used with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Otherwise, processing may take place under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in marketing optimization.
You can disable cookies and tracking at any time using your browser settings or via cookie preference tools on our website, if available.
12. Web Analytics Services
We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our website and to improve performance and user experience.
Where applicable, we use IP anonymization features and apply settings designed to reduce personal identifiability. Processing is carried out based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or, where permitted, based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You can object to this processing by disabling cookies, using browser add-ons, or adjusting your cookie preferences.
13. Retargeting and Remarketing
We may use remarketing or retargeting tools (for example, Facebook Pixel or Google remarketing) to display interest-based advertisements.
These tools track user behavior after interacting with advertisements and may set cookies or similar technologies. Such processing is carried out only where permitted, typically based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You may withdraw consent at any time through cookie settings or your browser preferences.

If you object, we will stop processing the affected data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for legal claims.
If your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time. In this case, we will stop using your data for direct marketing immediately.
16. Retention Period of Personal Data
